This was during her end of year finale with her middle school orchestra. She says she likes the Viola and thinks she wants to keep playing it. She still plays guitar but like allot of us "it" spends allot of time leaning against stuff. She gets frustrated easily at times so I tried to tell her to just put it down until the mood motivates her to seek it out. Never fails. Despite her periods of apathy she is still improving and inventing her own tunes and yes I see and hear her pick it up and play a music that touches my heart like no other. Watched her grow from an infant to pursue this avenue for what I too consider as one of the most intelligent things a human can create...a song.

Still in the Gem program with all advanced classes and made the A honor roll and did it all on her own.

12 years old and in the sixth grade. All advanced classes (8th grade level) and consistently on the A honor roll. Playing the Viola and the Guitar. Loves to play "Stairway to Heaven" and plays it well. Numerous awards for good conduct and attendance despite struggling with asthma and an above average history of respiratory infections in a broken and disfunctional family.

She has always loved to collect small trinkets, dolls, stones, marbles, and just about anything unique. She often arranges all of them on a small table at her bedside as a little city creating characters out of them and giving them all names and a special purpose reminiscent of Narnia.

Her artwork is excellent and quite unique as well. She loves Manga books (you know the kind that's printed backwards) and Japanese anime. Ramen noodles are her favorite food. We dont know why.

My best friend and likely the closest I will ever come to having a daughter of my own. But I cannot imagine nor could I have hoped for a daughter better than this. She has certainly been a most special gift and blessing of the highest sort.

Should my time with her be cut short for what ever reason, I consider the experience of being her "DaddyChris" the highlight of my life and despite the fact that I fuss..um correction..raise hell about the surrounding circumstances I am none the less truly thankful and often shout it in my prayers.

One of the sweetest and most beautiful souls I've ever known.
